This is a Bronze Sculpture, executed by Helaine Blumenfeld in 1972 titled "Silhousette." The piece is one of only six created, of which this example is #4. It is properly signed "HB", numbered #4/6.
The piece was cast by the top tier Italian foundry, Tesconi & C. Fonderia d'Arte, in Pietrasanta, Italy. Fernando Botero, Isamu Noguchi, and many other important artists had their bronzes cast by this firm. Please see foundry marks.
Ms. Blumenfeld is an American sculptor who works in Britain and Italy, and is known for her abstract, organic, and figurative forms in materials like bronze and marble.
She has created more than 90 large-scale sculptures for public spaces around the world, including the Lincoln Center in New York.
This sculpture measures 10 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 23 inches high. There is some light patina on the surface of the piece, and there are some insignificant hairline scratches. Overall, this important sculpture is in very good condition. Please see photos.
